Koval Sharp
More than 700 boxing fans attended the boxing show at the
Eastwood Metro Plex as Austintown's exciting heavyweight Chris
Koval won his 18 professional career fights by stopping Dallas
Lane of Springfield, Mo., in 2:25 of the first round. Koval,
(18-1-0 15ko's) dropped Lane four times before the referee halted
the bout.
Koval started the bombing with a terrific right hand to the body
dropping Lane. Lane got up and took a solid right hand to the
head and went down again. Again, the game Lane got up and the
hard punching Koval slammed another right hand to the body and
Lane again found the canvas. Again he got up, but Koval punished
Lane with a volley of punches and Lane again went down and the
referee wisely stopped the bout in 2:25 of the first round.
What Koval Had To Say
"He started to jump on me early because I guess it was from
loss I had when I had a slow start. But I wasn't going to let it
happen," said the amiable Koval. "I hit him with a
solid body shot, the best of my entire career to date and he went
down. I knew from that point on it was a matter of time. He never
hurt me in the fight because I kept my hands up. But I will say
this, he was tough."
